It has been almost 2 weeks since I tore my MCL in my left knee and still haven’t been able to see a specialist to assess how bad the tear is. I am still on crutches but it is slowly improving and can walk on it a bit. It’s still really swollen and cannot bend at all. I see a knee specialist on May 4th/16 and should know if I require surgery or not.
I am officially pulling out of the Men’s Physique show I was training for in June. If I am going to step on stage again, I want to know I put 100% into everything, leaving it all on the stage for the judges to decide. I could still compete with a bad knee but it just isn’t worth the feeling knowing that you are not bringing your absolute best self to the stage.
I’ve gone off the wagon a bit lately, enjoying eating out with a more flexible diet but I am really enjoying dietary freedom. So for now I am going to focus on rehabilitating my knee and working on any lagging upper body parts. There will always be other shows to compete in and I will promise I will keep posting content and keeping everyone updated with my current situation.
I really appreciate all the support, messages, emails and comments from everyone following my journey. The best form of motivation for me is knowing others are supporting and cheering me on as I continue my IBD journey. I just want to share my experiences hoping others can relate by knowing there are others out there dealing with similar issues. I do not want anyone to feel sorry for me, that is not what I am trying to do. Raising awareness to one of the most underfunded and poorly understood diseases is my goal.
