Transformation! Posted on June 10, 2015 by FlaredupFitness View this post on Instagram Without further ado, here is my Transformation Tuesday! On the right I was 17, weighed 150 pounds and lost 30 pounds over 2 months due to undiagnosed Crohn's Disease. I honestly thought I was going to die. I couldn't eat, I had ulcers down my entire esophagus, a good day I considered less than 20 bowel movements and I was extremely anemic due to internal bleeding caused by inflammation and a fistula in my small intestine. For those of you who knew me in high school I was never small or skinny. I weighed around 175-180 all through high school, while going to the gym 5 days a week and playing every sport I could. On the left I am 23 and a week out from my first competition weighing 195 pounds at about 5% body fat. I'm not doing this to show how people how good I can look, I want to motivate others and show what's possible despite having a debilitating disease. Many people with Crohn's look like I previously did at 150 pounds and extremely sick. This is one of the hardest things I've ever done. I cannot explain the countless obstacles I've had to overcome. I go to the gym because I know what it feels like to hit rock bottom. By being active, it feels like I'm beating my disease and not letting it defeat me.
